NASHVILLE, Tenn.— Acclaimed Sparrow singer/songwriter Matthew West will be
featured on the Billy Graham Television Special, “America’s Dream: Chasing Happiness,” which is slated to air in cities across
the U.S. March 1-9. The program will showcase the world-premiere video of West’s powerful song, “Nothing Else.”
The song, written by West and featured on his 2005 recording, History, contrasts the emptiness of fame and fortune with the eternal satisfaction and fulfillment found in Christ. In addition to the music video, the Special features stories of Americans whose shattered dreams were the first steps to finding lasting joy in Jesus Christ.
“America’s Dream: Chasing Happiness” will include testimonies from Appalachian State University head football coach Jerry Moore; author and social activist Star Parker; and professional bull riding champion Wiley Petersen, among others. In addition to West, the Special will also feature performances from Third Day and singer/songwriter Michael O’Brien.
West’s latest album, the critically acclaimed and best-selling Something To Say, released in January. Produced by Brown Bannister, Ed Cash and Christopher Stevens, the project explores themes of brokenness and restoration and is West’s most personal album to date. The debut single from Something To Say, “You Are Everything,” is a multi-format hit, landing this week at #2 on both R&R’s Christian AC and Christian Soft AC/Inspo National Airplay charts. West is currently a special guest on the AT&T sponsored “Boomin’ Beyond Measure” Tour with TobyMac and Jeremy Camp.
